Half a century of manufacturing power

Our journey began in the early 1970s in a 200 m² workshop and has grown into one of Turkey's leading steel and galvanizing brands.

Driven by growing demand, we expanded from a small workshop into an industrial manufacturing facility. In the late 1980s we enlarged the plant and commissioned our hot-dip galvanizing line.

We are among the first Turkish companies to establish and certify a quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9000 series of standards. We continuously increased capacity and quality by renewing our machine park with CNC technology.

PRODUCTION PROCESSES

End-to-end manufacturing

From engineering design to galvanizing, our production processes are carried out under one roof in an integrated manner. CNC and automation technologies are used in the relevant manufacturing operations.

Engineering & Design

We work with three-dimensional modelling and structural analysis software: Tekla Structures (formerly Xsteel) for steel detailing, PLS-POLE — Power Line Systems for polygonal and monopole analysis, and TOWER — Power Line Systems for lattice tower analysis. Telecommunication structures are analysed to the ANSI/TIA-222 revision stated in the project specification; transmission line and substation steel structures to the relevant national and international standards.

Galvanizing to EN ISO 1461 standard; long life against corrosion with respect for environmental health.

MATERIAL & GALVANIZING QUALITY

Quality starts with raw materials

The steel, sheet and fasteners we use are sourced from certified suppliers; every batch undergoes chemical composition and mechanical property checks.

Iron & Steel (Sheet, Profile)

EN 10025 structural steels (S235 / S355), hot-rolled sheet and profiles. Raw material with 3.1 inspection certificate and controlled chemical composition and mechanical strength.

Bolts & Fasteners

Mechanical properties of bolted connections are based on EN ISO 898-1 (property classes 5.8, 8.8, 10.9); preloaded high-strength assemblies are selected to EN 14399 and non-preloaded structural assemblies to EN 15048. For hot-dip galvanized fasteners, the requirements of EN ISO 10684 are met together with matching nuts and washers.

Galvanized Coating

To EN ISO 1461; minimum coating thickness by material thickness, with surface continuity, adhesion and appearance inspection for long-lasting corrosion protection.

Points to Consider in Manufacturing

  • Pre-galvanizing design: closed profiles and volumes must have proper drainage and venting (zinc in/out) holes.
  • Welds should be continuous and slag-free; symmetrical welding and balanced tacking are preferred to reduce distortion.
  • The silicon (Si) and phosphorus (P) content of steel affects coating thickness (Sandelin effect); selecting galvanizing-suitable steel matters.
  • Dimensional tolerances and assembly clearances should account for the galvanized coating thickness allowance.
  • Surface preparation: oil, rust, paint, weld spatter and marker residue must be cleaned before galvanizing.

Since its founding, Baran Çelik has regarded ethical conduct as essential alongside quality work, and considers supporting social, cultural and environmental activities a part of its corporate identity. In our home district of Kazan, under the leadership of KASİAD, we have supported the construction of a primary school, the renovation of homes for elderly and disabled citizens, and the provision of vehicles to the police force.

As management, we regulate all employees' personal and working rights in line with legal regulations. We treat our employees fairly without discrimination of class or opinion and protect their rights. No child labour is employed, and all health and safety requirements are fully met. We operate in parallel with the international SA8000 Social Accountability standard.
